I am Beautiful
I have always wanted to have shots of flowers in my collection so I decided to take mom´s pot of yellow flowers to my room and turned out the lights and started working with one light source which is my desk lamp directly over the pot. Working with flowers indoors is very easy because they do not jump around like animals do and the challenge here is your creativity. Move the light around, discover by putting it in different position you see the light effects on the delicate texture of the petals.
Compliment the main color of your flower with another color. This could be done by color background or in my case i put a fallen single petal of a small purple flower on the big yellow petals. There is no limit to creativity unless you limit your self.
Focusing is also the key for a successful close up or semi micro shots. You don´t want to focus on the edges of the flower as it will blur the inner part of the flower too much. The same thing as you don´t want to focus what is closest to your lense for example the stamina of the flower itself as it will blur most of the furthest part of the flower. You want to focus between the closest and the furthest of the subject when taking close up or semi micro shots to get the most of your subjent.
No flower was harmed during the making of this photo.
